When choosing seasonal color for your garden, do a little planning and stick with a color theme. Here are some examples of warm yellows, cool blues and eye-catching pinks. It takes a lot of flowers to fill a typical garden space, but grouping plants of a particular color can make a striking display for less money.
Next time you are shopping at your favorite nursery, plan your shopping for best selection and quality. Ask what days the nursery receives deliveries from the grower and plan to shop when they have a fresh shipment. A typical big box store will receive shipments at least once a week during spring and summer. A smaller retail nursery may get a truck every two weeks.
Some nurseries are directly associated with a particular wholesale grower or have their own farm off the retail site. These are the folks who can order a particular plant for you if you can't find it at the store.
