Pretty Good Gardens owner Lauren Millar has been playing in the dirt since she was a small child. Her maternal grandparents were farmers in northeastern Oklahoma where on visits, Lauren never turned down the chance to “help” pick green beans, plant flowers or to bug the adults to take her for walks in the corn field. She has been mulching, planting and pruning ever since. As to formal training, Lauren became a certified Harris County Master Gardener in 2003 and started Pretty Good Gardens soon afterwards. In 2010, Lauren completed her master’s degree in landscape architecture from Texas A&M University, including a certificate in Health Systems and Design.
